I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and invite you to join the
growing family of Horizon One's family of extremely satisfied dental patients.
I am Dr. Paul Kuhn. I attended the University of Iowa from 1975 - 1979 where I
received an undergraduate degree in chemistry. I then went on to graduate from the
University of Iowa Dental School in 1983.
Upon graduation, I started my dental career in Appleton, WI, where I practiced from 1983
- 1998. In 1998, my family and I escaped the long, cold Midwest winters and relocated to
southwest Florida where I have been enjoying paradise and practicing comprehensive
dentistry for the last 12 years.
In June of 2008, Dr. Scott Bakos and I opened our state of the art new office: Horizon One
Dental. With this new office, we can confidently offer our patients the latest advancements
in dental procedures and comfort, and as always our patients are treated with respect and
personal attention.
To further enhance our patient's experience and satisfaction, our staff pursues
continuing education to meet this goal. One of the most dramatic continuing education programs that
I have personally completed is the Lumineer Cosmetic Restoration Program. With this
treatment plan, your smile can literally be transformed to give you the smile you have
always wished for!
As I previously mentioned, my family and I moved to Southwest Florida in 1998.
We live in Naples. My wife and I have three sons, all of whom are attending college at
three different Florida Universities. We also have two Shelties who fill our time and home with
fun. They help fill the empty nest void! Our family attends First Baptist Church of
Naples. During our free time, our family likes to attend sporting events -
especially Minnesota Twins games, and stay fit by working out at the gym and running 5Ks.

I am Dr. Scott M. Bakos. I graduated from Case University in 1977 with a Biology
Degree and then attended Case University Dental School in 1981.
I moved to Florida in 1983 and have practiced comprehensive dentistry for the
last twenty-seven years in Fort Myers, Florida. Since 1987 I have placed and
restored dental implants and enjoy changing my patient's lives and smiles through
modern dentistry. Dentistry for me is not just a job; it is my passion in life.
In June 2008, Dr. Paul Kuhn and I opened our new state of the art dental office
Horizon One Dental. This office allows us to offer our patients the latest advancements
in dental procedures with a caring compassionate atmosphere. Respect for our
patients' and personal attention to their needs is our number one priority.
To further enhance our patient's care, our staff pursues continuing education
to improve their skills and remain current with the new innovations in dentistry.
Implants, Lumineers, Non-Surgical Gum Disease Treatment, and Cosmetic Dentistry

On a personal level, I enjoy family time with my wife and our five children
(including a three year old son), golf, fishing, and sports occupy most of our
family time. Sanibel is our home and we enjoy the island life. Hope to meet

I am Dr. Paul Uliasz. I graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry in 2000. In 2004 I received my Dental Degree by graduating from University of Detroit Dental School.
Ever since I was young I loved helping others and I chose dentistry as my profession after observing what a great impact a smile improvement has on people's self esteem and personal satisfaction.
During my first four years after graduation I practiced dentistry in Michigan and Ohio. In 2008 I moved to Fort Myers, Florida in search of sunny weather and a smaller city lifestyle.
I am committed to a continuous education on a world class level to bring my patients that best and the latest available state of the art procedures and dental advancements. This year I will complete the curriculum at
The Dawson Academy, which is an Advanced Dental Education for dentists dedicated to learning the principles and skills necessary for the successful practice of comprehensive, quality dentistry with primary concentrations in occlusion, the temporomandibular joints (TMJ) and comprehensive esthetic restorative dentistry. The Dawson Academy is considered as one of the top Advanced Dental Centers in the world for dentists committed to providing patients with comprehensive dental care.
In 2010 I completed the Prosthetic Program at the
Misch International Implant Institute, which is considered the top Implant Surgical and Restorative Institute in the world.
Over the past eight years I heard from many, very anxious patients that I have changed the way they feel about a visit at a dental office by making them feel relaxed and comfortable in a dental chair. For patients experiencing dental anxiety I am performing Oral Sedation to put them at ease for any procedure they may need.
I take time to listen to my patients' concerns and needs, and together we choose life-long dental treatment options which are in my patient's best interest and their comfort level.
In my free time I like to swim, go to the gym, spend time running on Fort Myers Beach or just stay at home and read a book. Once a year during the holidays, I travel with my family to upstate Michigan to spend a few days skiing. I am looking forward to meeting you at Horizon One Dental.
